About Part107 Central

Part107 Central is an independent study resource for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, the commercial drone-pilot knowledge test anyone flying an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for business, non-hobby, or compensated purposes in the United States must hold. It is a project of Urban Algorithm LLC.

Quick answer

Is Part107 Central affiliated with the FAA?

No. Part107 Central is an independent project of Urban Algorithm LLC, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FAA. We reference the FAA's public rules and study materials to describe the exam accurately, never to imply an official relationship.

What this site is

We do not sell a course. Pilot Institute, UAV Coach, and King Schools already run strong, well-produced paid courses for first-time candidates, and we say so plainly on our honest course-worth-it guide. Part107 Central exists for the surfaces those incumbents structurally do not lead with: a free, dedicated sectional-chart and airspace drill, the free biennial recurrent-training path existing certificate holders are owed but rarely told about clearly, and honest waiver and authorization editorial for pilots already flying under Part 107.

Not affiliated with the FAA

Part107 Central is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Part 107 Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and FAA study materials are public domain U.S. government works, and the regulatory text of 14 CFR Part 107 and sectional-chart symbology conventions are facts and public-domain government material, not copyrighted expression. We author original practice questions and diagrams from those public sources; we never reproduce an actual FAA sectional chart excerpt, the ACS document text verbatim, or any competitor's copyrighted illustration.

How we work with the data

Our two maintained datasets, the sectional-chart symbol and airspace-class reference, and the recurrent-training and waiver-pathway tracker, are compiled ourselves, sourced to the FAA's own Aeronautical Chart User's Guide, the ACS, and 14 CFR Part 107, and each entry is dated to when it was last verified. Every published number on this site is registered with its source in our fact registry. We re-verify on a real cadence and prioritize numbers that change with FAA rulemaking.

Tools stay free

The sectional-chart drill, the practice bank, and the renewal-window checker are free and ungated: no signup, no email, no paywall. Practice progress and renewal inputs stay in your own browser.
